This article will discuss the techniques and rigors that I have used to successfully breed and keep water dragons for over a decade.
The Chinese water dragon’s range ( Physignathus, also known as the Asian, or green water dragon), includes most of China and Southeast Asia. This nearly neon-green lizard, which is also known as the Chinese water dragon, is well-known for its habit of living in close proximity to small ponds, flowing creeks, and other bodies freshwater in forested areas. It is also an arboreal and can be found lounging on tree branches high above the water. A water dragon will nose-dive into the water when threatened and hide there until the threat passes. I have heard of water dragons staying underwater for up to 25 minutes.
The water dragon is a common name because wild dragons are often found close to rivers, ponds, and other bodies water.
